Chiara Percivati, clarinetist and performer, is an interpreter dedicated to the music of our time.
She performs at international festivals such as Wiener Festwochen Festival, Holland Festival, Ruhrtriennale, Romaeuropa Festival, Teatro alla Scala, MITO festival, Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik, Festival Aperto, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Festival Traiettorie, Cresc… Festival, Klangspuren Festival, ZKM Karlsruhe, Impuls Festival, Time of Music, Auditorium Parco della Musica, Harvard University, UCSD San Diego, University of Huddersfield and Orpheus Institute of Ghent, working with conductors such as Peter Rundel, George Benjamin, Daniele Gatti, Lucas Vis, Frank Ollu, Marco Angius, Francesco Angelico, Robert HP Platz, Jonathan Stockhammer, Clement Power, Yoichi Sugiyama, Brad Lubman, Pierre-André Valade, Renato Rivolta and Susanna Mälkki.
Among her main collaborations, the Ensemble Modern, the EMO (Ensemble Modern Orchestra), the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, mdi ensemble, Schallfeld Ensemble, the Orchestra and Ensemble XX secolo of the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala.
She studied in Conservatorio “G. Verdi” of Milano, obtaining there the second level academic diploma with Sergio Delmastro and the Annual Master for specialized performance with Alessandro Carbonare. Deeply interested in new music, Chiara has been scholarship holder of the XXth Century Ensemble of the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala from 2009 till 2012, and member of IEMA master’s degree programme 2013/14, working in Frankfurt with the Ensemble Modern on specialized new music performance.
Chiara studied with Nina Janßen-Deinzer, Ernesto Molinari, Fabrizio Meloni and Stefano Cardo, and attended the chamber music courses given by the Altenberg Trio, the International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA) masterclass in Schwaz 2011, the Impuls Festival 2015 and 2017 and the Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik of Darmstadt 2016. She studied composition at the Scuola Civica di Milano and is active as a performer, teacher and musical researcher.
